M. HAY WEDS The Marriage Took Place in Morgan County, Tuesday On last Tuesday, at high noon, at the home of the bride, near Madison, Mr. S. M. Hay and Mrs. Madora Peek were united in the bonds of matrimony in the presence of only relatives and a few intimate friends. The home had been profusely and prettily decorated and many handsome presents received which attested their popularity and the high esteem in which they are held. Mr. Hay was elected sheriff of Newton County in December 1901, to fill the unexpired term of Mr. H. D. Anderson who resigned. He was again re-elected sheriff in the primary this year over strong opposition and is one of the best known and most popular officials. The bride is a lady of many charms and graces and endeared with the christian grace that will make life happy and the world brighter. Mr. and Mrs. Hay will be at home to their friends near Brick Store until Christmas, when they will move to Covington and take charge of the jail.
