G. Cowan and children visited Mrs. Cowan’s father in Atlanta, Saturday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Abbie Thomas of Milstead spent last week with relatives. ~Mr. and Mrs. Mack Morgan of Covington, visited his sister Mrs. M. B. Beam, Sunday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Thompson, of Atlanta, are visiting relatives here for a few days. ~Mrs. Estel Lunsford and son spent Saturday night and Sunday with her sister, Miss Davie Parnell. ~Miss Edna Butler of Atlanta is visiting her sister, Mrs. Tom King. ~Mrs. O. A. Wheeler and son Jack and Mrs. Jim Brooks and son James visited Mr. and Mrs. Otis Lawson on Tuesday afternoon. ~Miss Ruby Bailey and Miss Jule McGines visited Atlanta, Tuesday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Edd Marion/Marlon visited Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Wheeler Saturday afternoon. ~Mr. C. B. Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Lunsford and Mrs. J. C. Loveless attended the ball game in Atlanta last Thursday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Martin and baby, of Atlanta, spent last Friday with his brother, Mr. Jim Martin. ~Miss Annie Mae Griggs has decided to stay with us. She can’t find any place like Porterdale. ~Mr. and Mrs. Clem Piper and sister, Miss Haley Piper have returned home after spending a week in Atlanta. ~Miss Lucile Robinson visited her aunt, Mrs. Omia Philips, Saturday afternoon. ~Mrs. Fred Blankenship visited Mrs. Marie Alexander, Friday afternoon. ~Mr. and Mrs. John Garner have returned home after visiting relatives in Canton, Ga. ~Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Martin, of Atlanta visited relatives last Friday. ~Mr. M. F. Olsby visited relatives at Doraville, Saturday and Sunday. ~We welcome Mr. Allen Cowathon, of Butts County, back to Porterdale. He is now boarding with Mr. and Mrs. Allen, on Ivy Street. ~The many friends of Mrs. Splint Hunt are sorry that she is on the sick list. ~Mr. Bill Lummus, of Columbus visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Lummus Saturday and Sunday. His sister, Miss Grace, returned with him to spend the week. ~Mr. Tom Maloy accidentally cut his arm in the mill Tuesday, cutting an artery, causing him to lose a great deal of blood. ~Mr. and Mrs. Tom King visited Mr. King’s sister, Mrs. Sadie Dorsey Saturday afternoon. ~Mrs. Nora Knight and Mrs. Ida Head spent Friday with their sister, Mrs. Etta Head. ~Mrs. C. W. Rivers visited her mother, Mrs. E. R. Thompson, Tuesday. ~Mrs. Cato, who is visiting Mrs. P. R. Christian, is on the sick list this week. ~We regret the moving of Mrs. Mollie Hornbuckee and daughter, Mae. They had lived here for about twenty years. ~Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burch visited his sister, Mrs. O. A. Wheeler, Sunday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Edd Maloy visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Maloy Monday night. ~Mrs. O. A. Wheeler had as her guest Saturday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Day, Mrs. Jim Brooks and daughter, Gladys, Mrs. John Bridges and daughter. ~Mrs. W. W. Parish has returned home after spending two weeks in the country. ~Mr. and Mrs. Smither Piper visited his mother, Mrs. Winfield Piper, Sunday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burch visited in Henry County, Sunday. ~Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey spent Sunday with his brother, Mr. Tommie Bailey. ~Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Head and family visited relatives in Morgan County, Sunday. ~Mr. Oby Shepherd spent Sunday afternoon with his cousins, Mrs. C. B. Bailey and Miss Annie Brightwell. ~Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Bloodworth spent Saturday night and Sunday with his sister at Millen, Ga. ~Mrs. Emma Rooks is spending this week with her daughter Mrs. James Holifield. ~Mrs. Mary Brigman and son Jack, of Columbia, S. C. are visiting her sister, Mrs. Riley Farrow. ~Mrs. S. P. Thomas, of Atlanta, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Allen. ~Miss Roselle Long spent Saturday and Sunday with Miss Inez Sowell. ~Mr. and Mrs. Barron Thacker and Mrs. Mary Cowan motored to Atlanta, Wednesday. ~Friends of Mrs. Annie Bell Bryant are very sorry to hear of her illness. ~The friends of Mrs. Dapsy Butler are glad to know she is some better and hope she will soon be well again. ~Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Thacker, Mrs. Cowan and Hazel Gennings spent Wednesday in Atlanta. ~Friends of Mr. W. P. Allen are glad to see him out again. ~Miss Opal Spear will leave Saturday to spend a week with her mother and father, near Forsyth, Ga. ~Mrs. B. F. Colmer and son, Ben, returned to their home in Decatur last Saturday after spending several weeks at the Welaunee Hotel with Mrs. Colmer. ~Mrs. J. D. Hardeman and son Dan, spent last week at the Welaunee Hotel with Mr. Hardeman. ~Mr. Harris, the Presbyterian minister, arrived in Porterdale Tuesday and is boarding at the Welaunee Hotel. ~Mr. Newton, overseer of night ______ Osprey Mill, is off for a month’s vacation. ~Friends of Mrs. Roy Mills will be glad to know that she will soon be well again. ~Mr. Walter DeFore is spending a week in Macon. ~Mr. and Mrs. Spence Hicks are visiting relatives in Macon and Milledgeville.
