Loyd, a one arm ex-Confederate soldier, who was mail carrier for many years along the Covington and Jackson line, will devote his time to farming this year. The Captain will plant for 50 bales of cotton and other farm products in proportion. He has fine mules, cattle, hogs, poultry, etc. and proposes to prove that a farmer can live at home. May success crown his every effort.
