The Georgia Enterprise June 8, 1883 June 8, 1883
     On Friday last C. M. Dickerson accidentally shot a Negro woman in the 
face, causing a painful but not dangerous wound. The woman was cutting canes on 
the bank and Mr. Dickerson thinking it was a beaver fired with the above 
results. He kindly had the woman cared for and regrets the accident more than 
any one. The woman’s name is Nettie Knight, and she is well thought of where 
known.
