  Master Alton King breathed his last Monday morning at his parents home in 
Covington at 7:30 o'clock, as the result of burns received Saturday morning.
  Alton rose Saturday morning about 6 o'clock and was making a fire. He had
used kerosene oil and the container was on the hearth near the fire. Some of 
the liquid escaped on the hearth and in some manner caught fire. The flame
rapidly spread over the child's night clothing, badly burning him almost from
head to foot.
  He lingered in considerable suffering until Monday morning.
  While the doctors gave no hope for his recovery from the beginnning, the 
little fellow's friends and the friends of the saddened parents prayed that he
might survive.
  Alton was an unusually bright and manly young fellow and was a favorite with 
his fellows in school, on the play ground and with his elders as well. He
held both the affection and respect of those who knew him and his death is
felt as a loss, not only to his parents but to our whole city, which joins
these bereaved parents in their mourning.
  Mr. and Mrs. King lost a younger son by burning in almost the same way
a little more than two years ago. With Alton's departure, there are four 
children, all who were born to this couple, who have preceded them to that
"land that is fairer than day," and no doubt the sad and surviving parents
have the faith by which they "can see it afar."
  The funeral and interment were at Bethany Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. The
Rev. F. M. Duncan conducted the services.
  Alton is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. King and many relatives.
