Prominent Young Man of Starrsville Ends His Life With a Shotgun.

  Mr. Capers Jones, a highly respected and prominent and well connected young
man of this county committed suicide at his home near Starrsville on Wednesday
of last week, by shooting himself through the heart with a double-barrel
shotgun.
  Mr. Jones was in the eighteenth year of his age and the son of Mr. J. M.
Jones, a prosperous and prominent planter of that section. Money matters is 
said to be the cause of the tragedy. He was in good health, and after finishing
his dinner he went to his room and a few minutes later had ended his life.
  His remains were interred in the cemetery near Starrsville.

Capers Jones Death

  After looking into the circumstances and surroundings connected with the
death of Capers Jones, we the friends of the family have decided that he came to
his death through accident.
  The marks in the room show that the gun was thrown from the rack while lifting
his hat from it, and the gun fell behind the bed. And while drawing the gun out
the hammer struck the post and the load entered his body, killing him instantly.
  We publish this in justice to Capers and his family, as several different
impressions have gone out.
