The Georgia Enterprise
  Saturday evening last a Lodge of Independent Order of Odd Fellows was 
organized in Covington with near thirty charter members. Conyers Lodge, No. 92, 
sent down a delegation to confer the degrees and arrange, so work could be 
commenced at once. Officers were elected and other important matters transacted.
Tuesday evening another meeting was held and several new members admitted into
the mysteries of the worthy order. 
  The following officers were elected without opposition: Jas. M. Levy, Noble 
Grand; W. R. Powell, Vice Noble Grand; S. W. Hawkins, Secretary: J. M. Dearing, 
Treasurer; Jas W. Anderson, Frank B. Wright and J. S. Carrol, Trustees. The 
other officers, a dozen or more, were appointed and their names will be given 
soon. We are confident the organization will become quite popular in this 
community. For the next twelve days those who desire to connect themselves with 
the Lodge can do so as charter members, that is, if they can come fully up to 
the requirements of the Order.
