The ceremonies consisted of prayer, songs and addresses by prominent masons, and other forms, such as pouring corn, wine and oil upon the stone was gone through with. There were 300 or more persons present, many of whom were ladies.-Among the articles deposited in the stone were: Letter by J. P. Anderson. Old coins by Edward McJunkin, Willie Edwards, John Cook, O. T. Rogers, F. W. Wright, Ed Everett, F. M. Arnold, John Norton, James Smith, J. L. Hays, Rufus Dick, M. Moss and others. Copy of Enterprise, Star, Atlanta Constitution, Macon Telegraph, Augusta Chronicle & Constitutionalist, Signs of the Times, Christian Index, and Atlanta Intelligencer, of 1862. Pocket Book, by Gen. W. Scott.- "Ode," by S. N. Stallings. Card, by Heard, White & Thompson. Pamphlett by S. D. Fox. Copy of Golden Fleece Lodge and city of Covington. Card of Thompson & Lee. Democratic ticket by J. R. Hightower. Prohibition ticket by W. W. Osborn. Chinese coin by Capers Dickson. List of workmen on building. Confederate money by C. B. Rosser; Catalogue of Georgia Methodist Female College by President Homer Wright. Old Virginia and Georgia Treasury notes. Cotton Receipt by W. C. Clark & Co. Names builder, contractors and bondsmen. Piece of rope that hung Homer Perry, by John Norton, Jr. Card of J. S. Thomas and Stephenson House, and many other small articles unneccessary to mention. The interesting and impressive ceremonies were closed by an able and eloquent address from Col. Porter King, of Atlanta. The occasion will long live in the mind of the large crowd who were present to witness and take part in the ceremonies.- Space forbids a more lengthy article upon this interesting occasion.
