S. Lee's plantation. Every effort was made by those present to save the poor boy, but the water being deep it was an impossibility to do so. The Negro was in bathing when the sad misfortune befell him. He remained dead in the water about six hours before his body was recovered. He was a good Negro and all the people in that section lament his death.
