Stephenson, who it will be remembered created some excitement in our city recently, was killed in a difficulty by Mr. J. W. Carter, in Limestone, county, Alabama, a few days ago. Mr. Stephenson was a nephew of Mrs. Bradshaw of Covington, and was returning to his home in Tennessee after a short visit in Georgia when he met with the man who, it is said, had to kill him in order to save his own life. From Mr. Stephenson's actions here, it was clearly demonstrated that he was undoubtedly insane. But he is gone, and let the charity of a selfish world drop a silent tear over the faults of a man who was once an honor to his family and an ornament to the society in which he moved. He was related to one of the best families in Tennessee, and his unexpected death will be deeply regretted by all who knew him.
