J. Mabry, of Newton county, was bit on the foot by a snake, of the species known as the Highland Moccasin, on Monday last. The little sufferer was immediately brought to town, and placed under the treatment of Dr. Yancey. When the parents returned home with it in the evening, it was reported as getting over the effects of the poison, since which time we have not heard from it. Dr. Yancey informs us, however, that it will be a long time before it entirely recovers from the effects of the bite.
