Georgia Enterprise
     A negro by the name of Will Gleaton shot a white man by the name of Wm. 
Reagan, in Stansell’s district on Monday night. Reagan died Tuesday. The negro 
was arrested. Reagan was shot on the road side without warning.

Georgia Enterprise, December 2, 1897
     We were mistaken about Mr. Wm. Reagan, who was shot by a negro named Will 
Gleaton, having died from the wound. It was a serious body wound, but his is 
slowly recovering and bids fair to get well. The negro is in jail and will be 
tried for attempt to murder at the March term of our Superior Court.
