Collier, on Church Street, December 9th. Thirty-two members were enrolled, quite a number of whom were present. The following officers were elected: President------ Mrs. P. W. Godfrey 1st Vice Pres.- Mrs. John B. Davis 2nd Vice Pres.- Mrs. S. J. Simms 3rd Vice Pres.- Mrs. H. Stone Rec. Sec.-------Mrs. Ross N. Scott Cor. Sec.-------Mrs. W. D. Travis Treasurer-------Mrs. G. L. Wells Registrar-------Mrs. C. A. Franklin Historian-------Mrs. D. Williams The executive board consists of the above officers and the following members. Mrs. J. M. Pace Mrs. J. F. Rogers Mrs. John B?????? Mrs. J. G. Lester The relief committee is as follows: Mrs. B. W. Collier, Chairman Mrs. J. F. Rogers Mrs. C. H. White Mrs. Harry Stone The principal objectives of the Daughters of the Confederacy: First: To erect monuments to the Confederate soldiers and preserve their names and records. Second: To relieve the confederate ????. This sentence is unreadable. and this promises to be a very flourishing chapter. After all business was attended to a very enjoyable hour was spent socially. Mrs. Collier proved to be a charming hostess. Delicious refreshments were served, appropriately decorated with miniature Confederate Flags.
