S. Roan, of the Stone Mountain circuit, sitting in chambers at the Fulton Court House Saturday morning, signed an order which will prove of more than passing interest to the people of Newton County and especially Covington. He decreed that Mrs. Edna Henderson, a well known and highly respected woman of Covington, shall receive $33.33 per month temporary alimony from her husband, I. P. Henderson, whom she is now suing for a divorce. In addition, he awarded the woman's attorney fees in the amount of $150 and restrained Henderson from encumbering or disposing of any of his property, pending the final trial of the divorce and alimony proceedings. Mrs. Henderson was represented by Attorneys Hewlett Hall and W. G. Post, of Newnan and J. M. Pace, of Covington. Henderson made no defense. The case is particularly interesting on accounty of the prominence of the parties. Mr. Henderson has long been a citizen of Newton county living at Covington. He is reputed to be well fixed, a conservative estimate of his wealth being $20,000. In her suit for divorce, Mrs. Henderson charges her spouse with cruel treatment.- Atlanta Journal This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
