  Mrs. Cook, mother of Mr. Wm. A. Cook, who lives about 2 miles northeast
of Covington, lost her house by fire early Saturday morning. It appears that
a fire was built in the house about day and it is thought that a defective
flue let the flames into the ceiling. By hard work most of the furniture was
saved. Mrs. Cook, her son, Willie and his wife, and a sister occupied the 
house, and the loss falls very heavy upon them all.
