J. Terrell continues in very feeble health. *Bishop Haygood is reported as being in very feeble health. *Artist W. R. Perkins and merchant S. D. Lee are slowly recovering from cases of measles. *Miss Corinne Davis has returned from an extended visit to dear ones in South Carolina. *Mr. Thos. J. Elliott spent several days of last week visiting friends and dear ones in Brick Store district. *Mr. R. R. McCullers and family have moved to one of Mrs. Mixon's houses, on Anderson Avenue. *Let everybody attend the Memorial Services in honor of Gen. Lee, at the Covington Methodist Church, on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 9:30 a. m. *Rev. Dr. John S. Moore, of Emory college, one of the best men in Georgia, has been quite sick for several days past. *Mr. Charles A. Franklin, a popular young gentleman from Jasper County, is clerking in the store of Messrs. Heard, White & Co., of this city. *Traveling Passenger Agent, Hudson, of the M. G. & A. Railroad, spent an hour or two here Sunday and was in the best of health and humor. *Prof. Lewis Fowler of Dekalb county, recent graduate of Emory college, spent Saturday and Sunday here, as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fowler. *The Porterdale Mills Company will accept our thanks for a large and beautiful Calendar for 1896. The picture represents a lovely young lady with low neck, blue eyes, auburn hair, decked with bright flowers, and is indeed a work of art. *Mr. Samuel Hay, formerly of Brick Store district, is now acting as Deputy Sheriff for Sheriff Wright, and makes his home in Covington. As a Bailiff and as a man Mr. Hay is well and favorably known to the people of this section. We are glad to have friend Sam as a citizen and hope he will be happy and healthy all the days of his life. *Our friend and fellow citizen, Mr. A. N. Hays, is now ready to fill orders for the celebrated Newton County High Grade Guano, which has always given satisfaction to the farmers. He also has a first class Blood and Bone Guano. Mr. S. E. Broadnax, of Walton County, who is a pleasant and courteous gentle- man, is associated with Mr. Hays, and can be found at his office in the store of Mr. Jas. R. Stephenson.
