MOSLEY took a broken crock of butter, so we had some good biscuit. He belonged to my mess and we lived for a short time. We then took a nap of sleep, and was ordered back to Duvald's Ford. We went near BOND'S camp ground and camped. It rained all night. We drew four days rations of beef and meal, and we had plenty of butter and milk. A Tennesseean stole a jar of milk out of a spring house and ran a half mile with it and turned it up and began drinking. He got some cloth in his mouth and found out that he had been drinking off of a gown and a shimmey that was in soak. The rest I will not write down. 27....Left for Duvald's Ford. Got there at 11 o'clock. 28....We most all went bathing. Me and BEN CAMP went down the river in a canoe fishing and went into a cave under rock.
