One hundred and fifty dollars and board for self, wife and one child, is the price paid. Mr. McNorton is to superintend, see after the inmates and work upon the farm, while his wife will see to the cooking and keep the domestic affairs of the Institution in the best order. Up to Monday, Judge Woodson was the only inmate, although several other white persons will go to the Farm, among the number will be uncle Buck Billis, a one-hand well-digger, who is known to many of our readers. It may be that the editor will try to get on the county unless collections get better and our patronage increases. This Farm is certain to save money to Newton County, for none but those in actual need will consent to go upon it. Once there the authorities will see they are well fed and cared for. Persons desiring to send delicacies to acquaintances there will not be prevented from so doing.
