C. C. Spence, of Cleveland, Ga., spent a day or two of last week with relatives and friends in Covington. He was looking well. ~On Monday last Hon. Emmett Womack, of Covington, was re-elected Solicitor General of the Flint circuit, for four years, commencing from Jan. 1st, 1889. The many friends of Col. Womack are gratified at the large vote he received at the hands of the members of the legislature. ~The Jasper County News tells us that “Miss Mattie Carroll, who has had charge of the telegraph office in Monticello for several months, has returned to her home in Covington. Miss Mattie made many friends while in Monticello who regret to learn of her departure and join us in wishing for her a long, happy and prosperous existence.
