Four good and true men were in the field, to-wit: Messrs. R. L. LOYD, S. J. CHESTNUT, W. B. HAYGOOD and J. M. LEVY. After the vote was declared the nominee, he having received the highest number of votes. The vote at Almon was thrown out, on account of many irregularities. Total- 878 votes were polled, as follows: LOYD, 309; CHESTNUT, 250; HAYGOOD, 207; LEVY, 112. The nominee is a life long Democrat, an honest man, who will do all in his power to discharge his duty faithfully and efficiently. this nomination guarantees his election.
