The Georgia Enterprise May 9, 1873
     A difficulty occurred between Tom Smith and Arthur Jackson, in Oxford on 
Wednesday last. They were both Negroes and had been drinking. From angry words 
a shot gun was brought into the use. Tom fired two shots into Arthur, one in 
the head and the other in the side. Tom escaped, and Arthur will probably get 
well.
