H. LEE as postmaster. ~Mr. JOE W. WRIGHT has a new horse that is said to be able to trot a mile in three minutes. ~Doctor CANDLER will make a wide awake prohibition speech at the court house in Covington Tuesday next, April 7th. Everybody invited. ~Friend BOOSTIN spent part of Sunday at Social Circle. It is reported that during his visit he flee head over heels in love with a beauty there. ~Mr. JOHN H. STEVENS and family, of Stevens Pottery, spent last week and part of this at the home of Capt. and Mrs. A. J. WEBB, in Rocky Plains District. ~Rev. Dr. WARREN A. CANDLER will make a prohibition speech at the court house in Covington on Tuesday next at 11 a. m. The Doctor will interest all who attend. He is one of the most entertaining speakers in this country. It matters not whether you agree with him or not, you will miss a treat if you fail to hear him. All are cordially invited to be present. ~Mr. A. H. S. DAVIS, former Tax Collector, has made a full and final settlement with the county and state. He has given the county faithful service, has collected all the taxes that could be collected, and the list of defaulters is lower than ever before. Success to our friend in whatever business he may enter, and may peace and plenty bless himself and family where ever their footsteps may chance to roam. ~Interesting and impressive Easter services were held at the Methodist church in Covington Sunday. The pulpit was decorated with flowers and evergreens. The Pastor, Rev. R. J. Bigham, preached a most excellent sermon which was enjoyed by his charge and large congregation. In addition to the collection for the Scaritt Training School, at Kansas City, Mo., a sufficient fund was raised to repaint and beautify the Methodist Church here.
