Speeches will be made and a big time will be experienced. A double wedding will come off, the contracting parties to be rigged out in cotton bag gang and Gov. Gordon to officiate assisted by Dr. Morrison and Dr. Barnett. The couples are Mr. Wells and Miss Whaley, of Rockdale, and Mr. Jeff Baker and Mrs. Dena Langley of Newton County. Henry Grady will give away the brides. The bridal party will be escorted to the grounds in carriages covered in cotton bagging and will be married under a canopy of cotton bagging. Many gifts will be presented by visitors. It will be a gay and festive occasion for all who may be present. President Livingston has issued an invitation to all Alliance men to meet each other there. ****************************************************************************** The Georgia Enterprise, October 31, 1889 Last week we stated Mr. Jeff Baker and Mrs. Langley would be married at the Exposition. Our informant was mistaken and we regret the publication, however we presume that friend Baker is about as sorry that it did not come off as we are for saying that it would take place.
