He does not belong to the Alliance but is fighting “old Jute” and other trusts, all the same. ~On Saturday, 11th inst. the Alliance at Richardsville will dedicate their new hall. President H. L. Graves, of the County Alliance and Hon. W. L. Peek, of Rockdale, have been invited to deliver addresses. A basket dinner will be served and a good time experienced. ~A supper will be given at Alcova Church on Tuesday evening, 17th of December, from 6 to 8 o’clock, for the benefit of the church. Everybody cordially invited. After supper a sociable will come off at the hospitable residence of Hon. Stephen D. Hight. Those who attend can count on having a delightful time. ~A pleasant party came off at the house of Col. R. W. Bagby, Friday evening. It was given in honor of the 18th birthday of his charming daughter, Miss Lucie Bagby. The tables were filled with choice eatables, covers had been spread for thirty guests. Gallant young men and beautiful young ladies, from home and abroad, passed the happy hours away in social games and interesting conversation. It was one o’clock when good-byes were said. May our fair and lovely young friend live to celebrate many more birthdays in as fine style as was this one. Although only “sweet eighteen” Miss Lucie understands the art of entertaining, and always succeeds in making every attendant “feel a welcome guest at home.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/newton/newspapers/somewhat744gnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
