Much important Church business was transacted and many able and edifying sermons were preached. Bishop FITZGERALD and his excellent wife were among the prominent visitors. The Bishop gave one of the most interesting and practical “talks” on Thursday evening that it has ever been our privilege to hear. It was not a set sermon, but a loving appeal to Christian men and women to improve the talent and opportunities that God had endowed and blessed them with. Sermons were preached by Revs. Dr. S. P. RICHARDSON, Warren CANDLER, and J. W. LEE. It was a three days time of rejoicing for the delegates, visitors and our own citizens. The sermon of Dr. LEE was perhaps one of the ablest and most pointed of his life. He touched on the various crazes and wild schemes of today in the social and political walks of life and entreated the people to lean and depend upon the Lord, to be truthful and industrious, and trust the Master in all things. The next District Conference will be held at Social Circle.
