E. A. Heard is now a resident of the live city of Rome, Ga. ~Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Lee spent Sunday with relatives in Hays District. ~Judge L. Q. C. Lamar, of the Supreme Court, has bought a lot in Washington City. ~Rev. Mr. Rogers, the new Presbyterian minister, preached two able sermons here Sunday. ~Mr. G. W. Allen, wife and baby boy of Jackson spent several days recently with friends here. ~Dr. Travis is able to get up and about and is improving in health quite rapidly. ~Mr. Jack W. Lindsay will run and personally superintend his farm this year. ~Rev. W. H. LaPrade is one of the most forcible preachers in the North Georgia Conference. ~Mr. Alex Borders and family now reside on Academy Street and occupy one of Mr. D. A. Thompson’s new cottages. ~Mr. Charles White of Conyers, late of Mexico, spent Friday with friends in Covington. He was looking well. ~Mr. I. W. Meadors and wife are keeping house at the old Beebe place, on Cedar Shoals Street, near Mr. Meadors farm.
