TOWN AND COUNTY EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY

~Dr. W. B. YANCEY will return to Covington about August 1st.

~Col. CLAIBORNE SNEAD, of Augusta spent part of Friday here.

~On Friday Mr. W. M. BARBER was thrown from a road cart, near the depot, and 
badly hurt, breaking one of his arms.

~Capt. WM. BRITTAIN, of Athens, and Hon. BOYKIN WRIGHT, of Augusta, spent a few 
days here recently as the guests of Mr. FRANKLIN WRIGHT.

~At a meeting of the City Board of Education, on the 1st, the following 
teachers were elected to serve in our public schools for the fall term: Girls 
High School- Prof. W. A. LYNCH, Principal; Miss FANNIE SINGLETON, Assistant; 
Miss O’KEEFE, Intermediate department; Miss ELLIE DUNLAP, Primary department; 
Mrs. ANNIE B. CORLEY, Music and Art. For the Male Academy, Mrs. SALLIE THOMPSON 
was elected Assistant, the Principal of this school will be elected at the next 
meeting of the Board.
