H. Echols is still in prison, the judge having, as yet, done nothing with the application for bail. ~Rev. Dr. J. M. Brittain will serve the Lithonia Baptist church one Sunday in every month this year. ~If elected, Col. R. L. Simms will make a sage and efficient Justice of the Peace for the Town district. Election comes off Saturday. ~Rev. W. A. LaPrade preached two forcible and impressive sermons at the Methodist Church Sunday morning and night. ~The Flowers House is gaining popularity as a boarding house. Mrs. Flowers feeds well and makes her guest feel at home. ~We are pleased to learn that Captain G. D. Heard’s little daughter has about recovered from the severe burns she received not long since. ~Colonel and Mrs. J. G. Lester spent several days last week in Washington visiting Judge and Mrs. T. M. Meriwether. ~Horace Thompson and Thomas O. Jones, of the State Technological school, spent a few days of last week with dear ones here. ~Mr. Jeff D. Stewart, one of the best young men in the union, run down from Jeffersonville, Ky., and spent last week with friends and loved ones here. ~Our young friend, Col. Richard L. Simms, would appreciate the votes of his friends and fellow citizens at the election for Justice of the Peace, Saturday. ~Col. Flowers is confident that he is equally as sure a wing shot as is ex- mayor Guinn. Brother Guinn smiles and says not. Let us hear a match between these champions.
