J. M. Pace reports a pleasant and interesting time during his recent visit to Salt Springs. ~Rev. W. H. LaPrade preached a forcible missionary sermon at Rutledge Sunday. ~Senator Joseph E. Brown, will accept our thanks for valuable public documents recently sent us. ~Mrs. R. J. Bigham, of Augusta, spent a day or two of last week with friends here. ~Mrs. H. J. Bates has been spending the past week with her daughter Mrs. J. P. Simms. ~Mrs. V. C. Conyers is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Cooke, at Chicago, Illinois. ~Judge and Mrs. J. G. Lester and Mr. Richard Lester have returned from a visit to Forsyth County. ~Master Jimmie Stephenson, of Charleston, S. C. spent several days here recently as the guest of his sister, Mrs. C. H. White. ~Mr. John Upshaw, one of Walton county’s largest and most successful planters, spent part of Saturday and Sunday here. ~Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Thompson and Mr. H. A. Jones spent Sunday at Snapping Shoals as the guests of Mrs. Jarboe and Mr. C. S. Jarboe. ~Rev. Dr. Bockman, Presbyterian minister, preached two fine sermons at the Methodist Church here Sunday morning and night. ~Col. L. F. Livingston made Alliance speeches at Jackson, Barnesville, Marietta and other points in Georgia last week. ~Hon. W. J. Northern told us Thursday that the farmers in Georgia as a rule would use only cotton bagging this fall. ~Mr. H. D. Arnold, a prosperous farmer from Wilkes County, spent a day or two of last week here as the guest of his cousin, Mrs. Dr. J. M. Brittain. ~The C. B.
