C. Conyers thinks of spending the winter in Chicago. ~Capt. Levy reports a delightful time in Macon last week. ~Mr. Charles Haynie and family, of Cartersville, N. C., have been on a visit to friends in this county. ~Mrs. Thos. A. Perry, of Ewell, spent a day or two of last week visiting relatives and friends here. ~Col. Capers Dickson will accept our thanks for the nice home raised peaches he gave us on Nov. 5th. ~Mr. W. H. Petty has caught a large number of fine sucker fish this season. ~Judge Jno. P. Harris says he’s got plenty of fine hay already baled and all his rents are paid. ~Mr. Benjamin Reed and wife returned from their bridal tour Friday. Both are looking exceedingly well. ~Messrs. W. S. Upshaw, E. O. Lee and others caught a large gray fox Friday. ~Col. E. S. Steadman is looking after land interests in Early County this week. ~Mrs. Judge E. F. Edwards has several boarders at her hospitable home here. ~Mrs. Dr. Travis reports having had a most pleasant time during her visit to the State Fair. ~The President has appointed Thursday, Nov. 28th as a National Thanksgiving Day. ~No track or trace of Wm. Simpson has been seen since he broke jail. ~Col. and Mrs. J. W. Chapman and daughter, Mary of Washington, have been on a visit to our city as the welcome guests of Dr. and Mrs. LaPrade. ~Mr. John W. Peek will soon have a handsome two story residence. John deserves a nice home and an abundance of this world’s goods. ~Mrs. J. S. Bridges has returned from a visit to Texas and is in feeble health. Hope she will soon be well again. ~It grieves us to learn that so good a man as Dr. J. A. Stewart, of Conyers, was robbed of $30.00 at the State Fair in Macon last week. ~Mr. W. W. Osborn sold two sewing machines one morning recently. He handles the best machines in the world and sells them cheap.
