T. WELLS is clerking at the furniture store of W. B. LEE & Co. ~Mr. F. H. THOMPSON has charge of the mail line between here and Jackson. ~We learn that a brother of Rev. T. J. SWANSON, of this city, lost his residence by fire in Monticello Sunday night last. ~A soiree, for the benefit of the Covington Rifles, was billed to come off at Music Hall, Wednesday night, Oct. 26th. ~Rev. R. D. PERRY, of this city delivered a fine sermon at one of the leading Presbyterian Churches in Atlanta Sunday. ~Mr. J. N. WOODRUFF is out of the dray business for the present, and is devoting most of his time to paying big prices for cotton seed. ~It looks as though only the pretty girls from abroad visit our town and county. No others could hold their own with our local beauties. ~An unknown Negro tramp was killed by a freight train near Lithonia Saturday night. He was trying to steal a ride and fell beneath the wheels. A coroners jury exonerated the railroad from all blame.
