G. Lester will erect a handsome residence early next year. ~Mr. Barton Hollis will not move to town until next summer. ~Rev. J. T. McLaughlin, of Fairburn, has been on a business visit to our city this week. ~Mr. L. O. Wright and family will make their home in town another year. ~Judge and Mrs. P. E. Banks have moved to their new home near the male academy. ~Mr. W. E. Smith has opened a first-class general merchandise store in the old Pace corner building. ~Marshal H. I. Horton has bought the house and lot, near the square, now occupied by Mr. J. F. M. Hutchins. ~Col. Emmett Womack has purchased the residence, on Monticello Street, in which he now resides. ~Mr. Wallace Russell, of Waycross who has been with us for awhile returned home Monday. ~Memorial services were held in every county in Georgia last week in honor of ex-president Jefferson Davis. ~Rev. T. J. Swanson will preach at the Baptist Church on the 5th Sunday, morning and night. Everybody cordially invited to attend. ~Tax Collector Davis has given the people every opportunity to pay their taxes. He has made a most excellent officer. ~Rev. Dr. J. F. Mixon, wife and daughter spent Sunday here. The Doctor will be pastor of the Methodist church in Washington, Ga., next year.
