D. Elliott and family have moved to Oak Hill district. ~Mr. Columbus Wright and family are visiting relatives in the country. ~We had a pleasant call from Col. Robt. W. Guinn, of Salem, Monday. He was looking exceedingly well. ~A pleasant sociable came off at the residence of Capt. Robt. Childs, at Newborn, one evening last week. ~Mr. T. C. Swann returned from Europe Friday. Mr. E. P. Carr stopped over a few days in New York. ~Col. Boykin Wright and wife of Augusta, spent several days here recently. ~Miss Corrie Carr, of Atlanta, has been on a visit here as the guest of Miss Alice Simms. ~Hon. T. J. Speer introduced a bill in the legislature Friday to amend the act regulating the storage of guano in Covington. ~Mr. Radford and bride, nee Miss Cora Heard, spent a few days here this week as the guests of their father Capt. G. D. Heard. ~Miss Sallie Wells and Lucie Bagby returned from a three days visit to Atlanta Monday night. Mr. G. T. Wells came down with them. ~Mrs. Amanda Bishop, of Rome, is visiting her sisters, Mrs. R. H. Thompson, and Mrs. V. Barber, of this city. ~Mrs. Dr. Willis, of Madison, is visiting Covington as the guest of Mrs. Judge Neal. She is looking well and will receive a warm welcome here.
