The Georgia Enterprise May 23, 1889
~Prof. Frank Smith, has one of the finest “turnouts” in town.

~Mr. A. L. Gaither, of Newton Factory, speaks of moving to town.

~Sheriff Anderson went to Alabama last week on a business visit.

~Dr. Callaway has one of the prettiest homes in Oxford.

~Mrs. J. G. Lester sprained one of her feet very severely Saturday.

~Mrs. W. H. LaPrade has returned from a pleasant visit to Washington, Ga.

~Hon. L. F. Livingston attended the National Alliance Convention in Birmingham 
last week.

~Some of “the boys” speak of running Col. Thomas Hardeman, of Macon, for 
Governor next year.

~Joe S. Nix, of Atlanta, so well known here, will spend a month or two in 
Europe this summer.

~We learn that Mrs. T. N. Pitts, of Atlanta, will move back to Covington in 
October.

~Mrs. Whitlock, of Marietta, has been on a visit to Covington as the guest of 
Major and Mrs. J. M. Pace. She was looking well.

~Dr. W. S. Higgins has gone to Fayetteville, Tenn., for a few days. He will 
return early in June and bring his family.

~Miss Bosworth, a very charming young lady from Atlanta, spent several days 
recently as the guest of Miss Maggie Moss.

~Rev. J. L. D. Hillyer, of Jonesboro, preached two forcible sermons at the 
Baptist Church here Sunday morning and night.

~Mrs. Georgia Mason and children of Decatur, have been on a visit to Covington 
as the guest of Mrs. Mason’s good mother, Mrs. Newton Anderson.
