The Georgia Enterprise November 7, 1889
     An interesting meeting of the Confederate Veterans Association of Newton 
County was held in the court house Tuesday. The following were unanimously 
elected to serve until April:

President- E. F. EDWARDS
Vice President- J. M. PACE
Secretary- J. W. ANDERSON
Treasurer- T. D. GUINN
Surgeon- J. C. ANDERSON
Historian- CAPERS DICKSON
Executive Committee- J. L. HAYS, S. R. ELLINGTON, J. M. LEVY, JOHN ROQUEMORE 
and R. W. BAGBY
Chaplain- T. H. GREER
A few other committees were appointed, patriotic addresses delivered and an 
enjoyable time experienced.
