W. Bagby and family are keeping house in the new residence, recently erected for Mrs. Chaplin, near Mr. S. P. Thompson’s home. ~FOUND- Piece of jewelry which the owner can get by proving property and paying for this notice. Call at the bottling works of Francis & Goss. Covington, Georgia. ~Prof. Frank Smith, son of Capt. Boykin R. Smith, of Walton County, will have charge of the Male Academy until June, and perhaps for all the year. He is a gentleman of culture and a fine educator. ~Col. J. W. Chapman, editor of the Washington Gazette, and his lovely little daughter, Miss Mary, spent an afternoon and night in our city last week, as the guests of Rev. W. H. LaPrade and his good wife. The Colonel expressed himself as being delighted with our court house, music hall, iron bride, street car line and other evidences which go make a live and progressive town. ~Rev. J. N. Bradshaw, of Darien, and pastor of Presbyterian Church at that place, has resigned. He has been there for the past four years. He is an earnest and faithful preacher and a good pastor. All denominations like him, and at the service of his farewell sermon the church was crowded, the Methodist calling in their service to unite with the Presbyterians. We hope Doctor Bradshaw will return to middle Georgia and again make his home in Covington.
