H. AARON, who died at his home, in this county, near Starrsville, September 3, 1892, near which place he was laid to rest with Masonic honors. Had he lived to the 15th of October, he would have been 77 years old. He was born in Wilkes County, Ga., Oct. 15th, 1815. Brother AARON was a useful member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, in Jasper County, for a number of years, and was ordained to the ministry on March 12, 1864. He was called to the pastorate of the same church, which he served ably for several years. It appears that he was somewhat reserved as to church callings, not seeking for them, but ever ready, upon request, to give instruction, which was generally good and wholesome. Brother AARON was a mason for more than fifty years, a part of which time he served as chaplain of his lodge. As a neighbor, Brother AARON was kind and ever ready to give instruction to those who sought it. As a Christian and minister, he was ever ready to comfort the cast down, and point them to a confident trust in that God, in whom he held such implicit confidence, and had so often found comfort in his cleansing blood. As a husband and father, he was gentle and kind, ever ready to undergo any trial for the comfort of his wife and children. His wife preceded him some years to the grave, but he has several children that yet survive him, and to them, with the many friends that he has left behind, we commend, emulate that Christian example which he left upon the record of his life of Free and Accepted Masons. To the brethren of the fraternity we say: Let us keep in view the exemplary life our brother has led, and may we, by Faith, Hope and Charity, meet him in that Grand Lodge above. Therefore, be it RESOLVED, That a copy of this memorial be spread upon our record book; that a copy be furnished the family of the deceased; and that our county papers be requested to publish the same.
