J. J. ADAMS DEAD On Sunday evening last Jan. 17th, Mr. John J. Adams departed this life at his home in Hays district. Aged about 57 years. He had been sick with pneumonia only a few days and his death was a shock to the community and brought sorrow to many homes and hearts. Mr. Adams was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and a high toned Christian gentleman. He was one of the best and kindest men in Newton county. He leaves a wife, several children and a large number of relatives and friends to cherish his pure and spotless memory. His body was laid to rest in the family section of the cemetery, near Dixie, on Tuesday. Elder Jordan, of Dekalb county, conducted the funeral services.
