R. W. BAGBY DEAD On Monday, March 28, at about 9 a. m., Robert W. Bagby died at his home 8 miles South of Covington. Aged about 59 years. He was a brave and gallant Confederate Soldier, a social, generous man. He lost an arm in the army while carrying the flag of his regiment in a bloody charge. He has friends all over the South who will mourn his departure. He leaves a devoted daughter, Mrs. H. M. Speer, and many dear ones to cherish his memory. His remains were buried in the family section in city cemetery Wednesday. Rev. Dr. R. J. Bigham, of Nashville, Tenn., assisted by Rev. T. J. Swanson, conducted the funeral services. An appropriate tribute to his life and career will be published later. The Confederate Veterans Association attended in a body.
