CARTER BAILEY DIES Monday, at his house in Jersey, death claimed Mr. George Carter Bailey, ‘26, a native of Newton county. Mr. Bailey, having died rather mysteriously, it was considered advisable to hold an inquest. E. S. Gordon and Solicitor Henry West, of Monroe went to Jersey for an investigation, the result of which was a verdict to the effect that “the deceased came to his death by acute alcoholism” - too much poison whiskey. The jury impaneled was composed of the following gentlemen: J. K. ______, ______ ______, J. H. Allgood, J. B. Hatcher, and C. C. Guest, Dr. G. R. Wells of Monroe, was the examining physician.
