DEATH'S SAD ROLL
  Mrs. Emma J. Ballard, wife of Mr. George Ballard, died at the home of her 
Uncle, Mr. A. C. Heard, in Brewer's district, Newton county, on Sunday, August
9th. Aged about 35 years. She leaves a loving husband, four children and many
dear ones to mourn her departure. She had been in feeble health for a long
time at her home in Morgan county, where her remains were carried for burial
on Monday. She was a daughter of Mr. Joseph Heard, of DeSota county, Fla., who
was with her when she died. She was a most excellent lady, esteemed and dearly
beloved by all who knew her.
