He had been sick for some time and his death was not unexpected. Mr. Beckwith was a kind and generous young man and made many friends during his sojourn in this city. We drop a tear to the memory of our departed friend. May flowers of beauty ever bloom upon his grave. For a long time he was engaged as a salesman in the store of Messrs. Farmer, Douglas & Co., and by his courteous demeanor grew in popularity with the public at large. He was a member of the Methodist church and did not fear to die. Rev. R. J. Bigham conducted the funeral services in a tender and very impressive manner. Mr. Beckwith leaves many dear ones to lament his death. Aged about 37 yrs.
