Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Bower, of Covington, R. F. D. No. 6, have received official notice under date of June 17th from Captain Harold W. Peters, of the Signal Corps, announcing the death of their son, John, who sailed for France on May 17th, 1918. The information contained in the letter was meager, it being merely stated that John Bower had died with the usual expression of regrets. The news, received by the parents of the young man on Monday of this week, was the occasion of much regret among the many friends of the family.
