WILLIAM BOYD DIES NEAR COVINGTON
   Covington, Ga., February 4.‚(Special).— William Boyd, 75, one of Newton
County's most prominent planters, died Friday morning at his home in West Newton
after a long illness.
   He was a steward and trustee in the Salem Methodist Church.
   He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Frances McCord Boyd; four daughters, Mr.
W.R. Elliott and Mrs. Elizabeth Almand, of Atlanta; Misses Clemmie and Angie
Boyd, of Newton County; one son, John D. Boyd, Jr., of Covington; one brother,
John D. Boyd, Sr., of Newton County.
   Funeral services will be held at Salem Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at
2:30 o'clock, eastern time. Rev. T.J. Christian, of Covington, officiating.
Interment will be in Salem cemetery.
