DEATH OF MRS. BROWN
After a Lingering Illness Dies At Her Daughter's Home.
  After an illness of many months and lying at the point of death several
weeks, Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Brown, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C.
Flowers, last Thursday night at 9 o'clock, surrounded by her loved ones.
  She was seventy-two years of age and until recently an active and consistent
member of the church. She had hosts of warm personal friends all over Newton
County and especially around Almon and Salem, where she spent most of her
life. Her suffering had been so intense and so protracted that death came as
a relief to her.
  Mrs. Brown was married to Stephen A. Brown, a prominent and well-to-do
farmer of this county, who preceeded her to the grave by a score of years.
There are six children still living; Mrs. J. C. Flowers, Mrs. W. S. Marbut,
Mr. R. L. Brown and Mr. S. A. Brown all of this county, Mrs. W. T. Kilpatrick,
of Bartow, Fla. and Mr. W. R. Brown, of Dennison, Tex.
  Mrs. Brown's interment was Friday afternoon at the Loyal burying ground
4 miles West of Covington.
