He was about 65 or 70 years of age. He was the janitor for the Few and Phi Gamma Societies of Emory College, which position he had filled continuously for many years. Both societies took action on Saturday concerning his death, and resolved to erect a suitable monument to his memory in the colored cemetery. This action is highly commendable on the part of the young gentlemen of Emory College, and speaks well for their kind appreciation of his services as janitor for the two societies.
