Burned to Death

     Last Saturday afternoon one of the houses at the poor farm, in this 
county, caught on fire, and was totally destroyed; and horrid to tell, a very 
aged colored man, Joe BRYANT by name, was burned to death before he could be 
rescued.
     How the fire caught, no one knows.
     It is supposed that the old man was asleep, as he was found in that part 
of the room where the bed was situated.
     When taken from the flames both of his legs were partly burned off.
