MORGAN CALLAWAY In noting the death of Mrs. Georgia F. Callaway which occurred in Oxford, several days ago, the Washington Chronicle says: “During the war, along with the other women of the Ficklen family, she was a great worker for the soldiers. When the war closed, she was not left penniless, but her active spirit prompted her to work, she begun to teach in the Washington Female Seminary. Dr. Morgan Callaway became principal of this school and this association led to her marriage to Dr. Callaway June 24, 1868, and subsequently to her removal to Oxford where he became professor. Mrs. Callaway had sound womanly judgment. She managed her property with excellent business sense, bought and improved a home which made herself and Dr. Callaway exceedingly comfortable. His health was never good and he was greatly indebted to the care and attention of his devoted wife. She was one of the most unselfish and affectionate of women.
