He came from Warren to Newton county, about the year 1828, and was married to Miss Sarah A. Sawyers in January 1830, which tie lasted until May the 29th 1892, she having died at that date, in Covington, Ga. In his last sickness he was a model of patience, and was not ignorant of the approach of death. On the morning of 16th of November, he made a full surrender to the God who gave him his soul and body with calmness and consideration after which he did not want medicine or refreshments, stating that they would do no good- but he would take them for his friends sake. Firmness and decision were life partners of his and true to the end, full consciousness to one minute of his death, with a firm reliance upon superhuman aid he quietly passed away, and we trust is now, beautified in the realms of bliss, where hearts ties never sever.
