SALLIE CAMP IS DEAD Mrs. Sallie A. CAMP, wife of Mr. Harry CAMP, departed this life Saturday night, May 28th, in the 80th year of her age. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. W. BIGHAM at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon, there being a large number of relatives and friends present. For more than sixty years she was a loyal, loving wife to her husband. For more than half a century she was a faithful, consistent member of the Methodist Church. She was always hopeful and cheerful, and often said that “the cares of life I place behind me, but the cross of Christ I always keep before me.” She was a plain, unpretentious woman who drew around her a circle of devoted friends such as falls to the lot of few people in this world to possess. She had a hand and a heart “open as day to melting charity.” Her nature was essentially one of daily life, her chief concern being to do good without ostentation. She will be mourned by many and by none more than by the poor, the lowly and the afflicted, whom she made it her pleasure and her duty for many years to visit, to relieve and to comfort. She has left us, but this old world has been made better by her having lived in it.
